Warner Bros has set its high-seas drama “In the Heart of the Sea” for a March 13, 2015 release.
Directed by Ron Howard and based on the Nathaniel Philbrick novel, “In the Heart of the Sea” blends fact and fiction, describing the 1820 attack by a sperm whale on the Whaleship Essex, leaving the crew stranded for 90 days and turning to cannibalism.
The film will star Chris Hemsworth, Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, Ben Whishaw, Tom Holland, Brendan Gleeson and Jordi Molla.
Warner Brothers is partnering with Village Roadshow Pictures for the project and adds this film to its list of 2015 releases, which already includes “Mad Max: Fury Road” (May 15), “Batman Vs. Superman” (July 17) and “Live by Night” (December 25).
