20th Century Fox has tapped Rupert Wyatt to direct Channing Tatum in comic-book adaptation “Gambit”.
Tatum will star as the titular Cajun mutant who has the ability to charge objects with energy, rendering them explosive.
This film will be Gambit’s first feature film – he appeared in 2009’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” (played by Taylor Kitsch) however this will be the mutant’s first solo film.
Producers are Tatum, Reid Carolin, Lauren Schuler Donner, and Simon Kinberg.
“Gambit” will hit cinemas on October 7, 2016.
