Russo’s a lock to direct Avengers : Infinity War?

Joe and Anthony Russo (“Captain America : The Winter Soldier”) will stay within the Marvel universe for the two-part “Avengers : Infinity War” movie saga, says Bad Ass Digest.

The directing duo replace Joss Whedon, director of the previous “Avengers” films, who has decided to hang up his coat from the series. The Russo’s have been long rumoured for the job on “Infinity War Part 1” and “Infinity Wart Part 2” due 2018 and 2019, respectively.

The duo will first direct “Captain America : Civil War”, which begins filming in a month. Events in that movie will reportedly tie-in closely with events in the “Avengers” two-parter.

“Captain America” scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are in talks to write “Infinity War”. The story involves Thanos (Josh Brolin) chasing the infinity stones; while on his pursuit he’ll come face to face with the Avengers.
