Sam Witwer as The Crow!?

If the author of the source material has any say, actor Sam Witwer (“Smallville”) would be cast as Eric Draven in the upcoming remake of “The Crow”.

James O’Barr, the man behind the ink, told an audience at Wizard World on the weekend that he’s asked director to consider the actor for the part.

Witwer, also known for his role on “Being Human”, was also given a call; in response to O’Barr’s wish, he said he’d mow O’Barr’s lawn for the rest of his life if he could make that happen.

Luke Evans left the production last month, reportedly over scheduling issues; the real reason for his exit? According to O’Barr, Evans (“Dracula Untold”) was just too expensive.
