Samuel L.Jackson is The Black Phantom – as opposed to Billy Zane’s Purple version

Samuel L. Jackson may be “The Black Phantom”.

Deadline reports that Jackson is in talks for the titular role that Jamie Foxx was previously being considered for. Foxx was forced to exit the project due to scheduling conflicts.

Tim Story is directing the action-comedy for Screen Gems. Kevin Hart is also attached to star.

The film will centre on a double-crossed mob hitman who recruits the help of the Black Phantom, the very hitman who had been sent to kill him.

Will Packer and Will Gluck are producing.
