Sarah Wayne Callies of “Walking Dead” fame is set to star in New Line’s as-yet-untitled tornado thriller, according to Deadline.com.
Wayne has been cast as “Allison Stone” in the found-footage natural disaster flick, which follows a group of high-school teens as they live with the aftermath of a devastating natural disaster. Alycia Debnam-Carey has also recently joined the film.
Steve Quale (“Final Destination 5” and second-unit director for “Avatar”) is set to direct the film, which was formerly known as “Category 6”; Todd Garner is producing with John Swetnam having written the screenplay.
“Walking Dead” fans need not depair, though; the plan is for Callies to continue with the series while she works on the film.
