Schwarzenegger back for Terminator 6

Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Terminator : Genisys"

While it’s been widely reported that “Terminator : Genisys” serves as the kick-off point for a new trilogy of Skynet-sponsored adventures, what hasn’t been is whether or nor Arnold Schwarzenegger is involved beyond the one movie. With the new film bringing into a rather electric mix of performers, including Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, JK Simmons, Matt Smith, and Jason Clarke, it wouldn’t have been surprising to see any one of them (or another actor) take over as the headline act of the next two films in the Paramount film franchise. But according to Schwarzenegger, his iconic character (or another incarnation of) will ‘be back’ for the “Genisys” sequel.

Speaking to The Arnold Fans about whether or not he’ll be doing another “Terminator”, Schwarzenegger said “Yes, of course, next year”.

In other words, not long after this one hits DVD and Blu-ray, and after Schwarzenegger completes “The Legend of Conan”, cast and crew will be reassembled to begin filming the middle chapter in the “Genisys” yarn.

Seems the producers are in a rush to finish this new trilogy before the rights revert back to James Cameron in 2019.

“Terminator : Genisys” is released June 25, while the sequel is due 2017.
