Sequel News : Enchanted, Bad Boys, Pirates, Expendables, Star Wars, X-Men & more

Disney has tapped J. David Stem and David N. Weiss, who co-wrote ”Shrek 2” and ”The Smurfs”, to pen the sequel to “Enchanted”, which Anne Fletcher (“The Guilt Trip”) is onboard to direct. The 2007 film starred Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey and James Marsden. (Deadline)

The ratings board has officially given “The Expendables 3” a PG-13 rating in the United States. The first two films were rated R. It’s likely that the film will get an M Rating in Australia.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer says a fifth “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie (which he says will be more of a “straight Pirates” movie) and a third “Bad Boys” (“Well, we’re working on an outline right now. Hopefully we’ll get a screenplay in the next three months. And that will become a movie I hope”) are on the way (Collider).

“The Newsroom” hottie Olivia Munn is in talks to join Universal’s “Ride Along 2”. According to the trades, Munn’s schedule is being organized so that she can fit both the next season of HBO’s “The Newsroom” in, as well as the Ice Cube/Kevin Hart starrer. (Variety)
