Sequel News : Lethal Weapon, X-Men, Star Wars, Inbetweeners, Molly Hartley

Chris Hemsworth is rumoured to have been offered the role of Martin Rigg’s son – Riggs was the character played by Mel Gibson in the previous “Lethal Weapon” movies – in producer Joel Silver’s long-gestating reboot of the “Lethal Weapon” franchise. The screenplay, said to be titled “Lion Hunters”, was written by “Gangster Squad” scribe Will Beall. Justin Lin is reportedly attached to direct. (The Tracking Board) Update! Justin Lin has downplayed the rumours of him directing on Twitter.

Hugh Jackman looks to be reprising Wolverine for the next “X-Men” movie, too. Though “X-Men : Apocalypse” will mainly be made up of cast members from the ‘First Class’ cast, the hairy mutant seems certain to return. More so, Jackman will shoot “Apocalypse” at the same time as a new solo “Wolverine” movie. (Collider)

It was suggested earlier that Han Solo be one of the main characters in “Star Wars Episode VII”, now comes word that Solo (Harrison Ford) is actually a co-lead in the picture. The character will be one of the leads, along with three younger actors. Whether this means Solo goes down in a blaze of glory in Episode VII and doesn’t return for the later two sequels is unknown.
