Shaft reboot gets up!

The previously-rumoured reboot of “Shaft” is officially a go. Kenya Barris, the director of “Black-ish”, and Alex Barnow, the EP for “The Goldbergs”, are on script duties.

The New Line film will be produced by “Man from U.N.C.L.E” producer John Davis and Ira Naopliello.

The first “Shaft” since the 2000 remake starring Samuel L.Jackson, the new version again follows the adventures of a private detective.

The original ’70s film featured both a killer performance by Richard Roundtree in the title role and immensely popular soundtrack from the late Isaac Hayes.

The new version is said to be more comedic than previous “Shaft” movies. Paging Kevin Hart!?
