Shutter to think what Pacey’s up to now

Joshua Jackson starring in horror remake

Haven’t seen much of Joshua Jackson for a while – well, besides his small role in “Bobby”. The former “Dawson’s Creek” star looked like he was going to go places there for a while – in fact; he was on the shortlist to play the Caped Crusader in “Batman Begins” – but has been as quiet as O.J Simpson’s’ neighbours.

Jackson, who we all know started out in those “Mighty Ducks” movies, is quite a good young actor… so here’s hoping he does score a great big meaty role one day.
Meantime, seems the youngster is settling for the kind of film roles he was offered back in the “Creek” days – teenage horror pics. You may remember he starred in one of them, “Urban Legend”, way back when. Jackson will join Australian actress Rachel Taylor (“The Transformers”) in the American remake of “Shutter”, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie, co-starring David Denman (“The Office”), James Kyson Lee (“Heroes”) and John Hensley (“Nip/Tuck”), centers on a young American couple (Jackson and Taylor) on their honeymoon in Tokyo, who begin seeing ghostly images in their photos as well as around them.

I know Disney’s trying to get the “Mighty Ducks” series off the ground again… but Jesus, I hope Jackson doesn’t cave in and do another one of those. Rumours persist that the studio wants him to come back and play ‘Coach Charlie’ – his younger character, now all grown-up – but he’d have to be really desperate to pick up that gig, right? That’ll only set him back a couple of more spots on the matt.
