Steven Spielberg is somewhat responsible for Alden Ehrenreich’s new appointment as the young Han Solo.
Spielberg, as well as Francis Ford Coppola, called Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy to give a verbal reference for the “Hail Caesar!” actor. It was Spielberg who actually helped Ehrenreich land on the Hollywood map, when he spotted him in a Bar Mitzvah video.

In other “Star Wars” goss – albeit a bit I think slightly spoils the flick, at least in terms of the enjoyment of discovering said cameo on your own – Tom Hardy is rumoured to be playing a stormtrooper (just like fellow A lister Daniel Craig did in “The Force Awakens”) in next year’s “Star Wars Episode VIII” (NOTE : it won’t be called that).
