Screen vets to star in new Ash Baron Cohen Pic
“Steel Magnolias” co-stars Shirley MacLaine and Olympia Dukakis are re-teaming for “Poor Thing”, a new movie from director Ash Baron Cohen (yep, Borat’s cousin).
According to Variety, Trent Haaga’s script was inspired by real news events and crime scandals surrounding recent arrests and convictions of elderly women for various “grandma gang” exploits, which have included scams and cons involving drug sales, insurance fraud and murder.
Shooting starts in May.
