“Bumbleebee” star and top-selling songstress Hailee Steinfeld is teaming with Matt Reeves, writer-director of the upcoming “The Batman”, for Netflix music drama “Idol”.
Written by Matt King, the story centers around a girl who becomes an assistant for a popular singer and then tries to become her.
Steinfeld and Reeves will produce alongside Adam Kassan, and Rafi Crohn of 6th & Idaho through their first-look Netflix feature deal, says Variety.
The talented thesp, next in in Paramount’s “Bumblebee” and also as the voice of Gwen Stacy in Sony’s “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”, is on a real roll. With her name hot on the lips of more and more studio execs, might she even get a look-in for Reeves’ upcoming Caped Crusader movie? (particularly if it’s true they’re going with a younger Batman for it).
