Stephen Fears wants to tackle The King

Stephen Frears ("High Fidelity") is considering making his next movie, a movie about Elvis, says Variety. To be titled "The Importance of Being Elvis", tells the story of Brian from Newcastle, who claims that for many years he was Elvis Presley. The premise is that when Elvis was serving in the US Army, he was shot in the throat by a fan and could no longer sing. His manager, Colonel Tom Parker, with the collusion of the American government, found an impersonator to replace him.
