Tarantino doc finds home & the man himself gets his own beer!

Quentin Tarantino

A new documentary about Quentin Tarantino has been purchased by – naturally – the Weinsteins.

“21 Years: Quentin Tarantino”, a doco about Bob & Harvey’s indie wunderkind discovery (who burst onto the scene all those years ago with “Reservoir Dogs” and soon after, “Pulp Fiction), reportedly offers chats with QT’s many collaborators, amongst other fun stuff, and is is directed and produced by Tara Wood.

Harvey Weinstein tells THR : “Working with Quentin time and time again continues to be one of the highlights in my career both at Miramax and TWC – not only because he’s one of our industry’s true visionaries and auteurs, but because he’s become a true friend to Bob and me over the past 20 years. There’s a universal understanding when you hear the name Tarantino. Tara’s film will give audiences a glimpse into the man we have had the honor of knowing and we couldn’t think of a better home for a film documenting Quentin.”

Samuel L. Jackson, John Travolta, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jamie Foxx, and Eli Roth are just some who feature in the doco.

In other Tarantino news, Australian home entertainment distributor Roadshow Home Entertainment has come up with some rather nifty promo tie-in for new release, “The Hateful Eight”. To coincide with the domestic release of the Tarantino-thriller, the distrib has hooked up with with 4 Pines Brewing Co. to produce The Hateful Ale, a Belgian-esque offering that encompasses “as much kick as a civil war era shotgun”.

The beer, which is said to be contain nut, banana and clove, is available from select grog vendors.
