Gareth Edward’s “Monsters” was a surprise hit with both critics and audiences when the low-budget monster-movie was released a couple of years ago. Though Edwards is now busier doing bigger fare (a “Godzilla” remake to be precise), he has given the thumbs up to a sequel to his 2010 breakthrough hit. “Monsters : Dark Continent”, executive produced by Edwards, is directed by Tom Green (“Misfits”) who, though seemingly now quite as imaginative as Edwards when it comes to his visual storytelling skills (if the trailer is anything to go by), looks like he’s put together a pretty worthwhile follow-up.
