The first trailer for “Divergent”, one of the big early ’14 releases (and what would’ve been one of two huge tentpole blockbusters for star Shailene Woodley, had Sony not dumped her as Mary Jane Watson from “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”; still, she may have the last laugh… that could turn out a dud, and this one a stud), unleashed an impressive trailer tonight at the VMA awards in Los Angeles.
Unfortunately, the similar-themed “Mortal Instruments : City of Bones” flopped at the box office over the weekend – anyone’s guess why? I thought it was pretty good – so seems there’s no such thing as a sure thing when it comes to film adaptations of these young adult novels anymore. But having said, looks like we’re in for a decent time all the same here.
