The Grudge reboot casts Andrea Riseborough and Demian Bichir

Sony’s new take on the horror classic “The Grudge” is coming along, with Andrea Riseborough and Demian Bichir announced as part of the cast.

Nicolas Pesce is directing the film from his own script, and Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert are producing.

The original flick was out in 2004, and was an adaptation of the Japanese film of the same name. It starred Sarah Michelle Gellar in the lead.

Regarding the reboot, producer Raimi noted:

“We are so excited about this new adaptation. We went back to the original source material to deliver a relentless supernatural thrill ride that explores the horrors of American suburbia.”

Production is expected to begin in May. Via Variety.
