The Towering Inferno’s Deep Impact The Day After Armageddon

Screen Gems gets into the spoof business

This could – I’ll save judgement until they announce David Zucker as the director – be good.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Screen Gems has acquired the actioner spoof “Armageddagain: The Day Before Tomorrow”. It’s a big piss-take on all the disaster films – as the title implies (just one question, didn’t Stone and Parker do this, under the name “Team America”, a couple of years back?).

Robert Moniot is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Travis Oates. Shooting is set to begin in August for a 2008 release.

We need a good spoof movie again. Remember how great “The Naked Gun”, “Airplane” and the first “Scary Movie” were? What happened!!? Let this be the comeback of the piss-take that actually, well, makes you piss.
