“Thor” co-writer and “Fantastic Four : Rise of the Silver Surfer” writer Don Payne has passed away at the age of 48.
Payne, who collected four Emmy’s as part of the award-winning creative team on TVs “The Simpsons”, died Tuesday in Los Angeles after a long battle with Cancer.
In addition to his work on “The Simpsons”, Payne worked on a variety of other TV shows over the years, including “Veronica’s Closet” and “Men Behaving Badly”.
Filmwise, he wrote “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” and the “Thor” films. He had also been working on another Marvel property, “Lobo”.
Payne’s latest work, “Maximum Ride”, based on the James Patterson book, is in development at DreamWorks.
