Tom Cruise teases Edge of Tomorrow 2

Seemingly not against spending the next years making sequels to some of his better flicks, Tom Cruise is looking to add “Edge of Tomorrow 2” to his upcoming sequel-slate.

Cruise, already a lock for sequels to both “Top Gun” and “Jack Reacher”, tells MTV News that he’s pitched a follow-up to last Summer’s time-travel thriller.

“I pitched it to [“Rogue Nation” director and “Edge of Tomorrow” screenwriter Christopher] McQuarrie and [“Edge of Tomorrow” director] Doug [Liman]. We were there one night and I was like, I’ve got an idea for it,” Cruise, out promoting “Mission : Impossible – Rogue Nation”, said.

Cruise said original co-star Emily Blunt would also return for the sequel.

“It could be so much fun,” he said. “Gotta get Emily. I was like Emily, please. She was like, ’give me another year, please.’”

Cruise is just as amped to get going on the long-gestating “Top Gun” sequel.

“It would be fun. I would like to get back into those jets”, the 53-year-old actor tells Reuters.

The sequel, which Cruise was developing with original “Top Gun” director Tony Scott before the late filmmaker’s tragic passing, would be light on CGI.

“It would have to be practical. I don’t want any CGI jets. I want to shoot it like how we shot the first one.”

Sadly, Cruise is yet to commit to a “Risky Business” sequel yet.
