Tom Hardy to play war photographer Don McCullin

Tom Hardy’s Oscar nod could be inching closer.

The versatile thesp is set to play legendary British war photographer Don McCullin in “Unreasonable Behaviour”, says Deadline.

An adaptation of McCullin’s autobiograhy, the flick will chronicle the photog’s journey from a poverty-stricken childhood in wartime London to becoming one of the most famous war photojournalists. Working for the Sunday Times from the late 60’s to the early 80’s, he risked his life to photograph the harsh realities of war from Vietnam, Cambodia, to Biafra and Uganda, one black and white image at a time.

“’71” scribe Gregory Burke wrote the project, which Hardy, Dean Baker, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce.
