Based on the best-selling novel by Tom Rob Smith, CHILD 44 is a riveting crime drama about a man fighting to reclaim his humanity within a corrupt system. Set in Stalin’s Soviet Union, former war hero Leo Demidov (Hardy) is the golden boy of Russia’s infamous secret police and a true believer in the state. But his loyalty is tested when he dares to investigate a series of unthinkable murders – a case that begins to connect with the very top of party leadership. As the authorities become desperate to bury the inquiry, Leo’s determination to expose the serial murderer culminates in a nail-biting cat-and-mouse chase as he struggles to catch the killer before the state can catch him.
