Sniffing at the arse of those stills that surfaced yesterday, MGM has helped haunt the internet with a “Poltergeist”… trailer.
As unnecessary as a straight-up remake is, the trailer does suggest the film encompasses some fine performances (well, Sam Rockwell IS in it), some great music and atmosphere, and again, you can’t go wrong with a scary clown. Still, hopefully one day we’ll find out what happened to Stephen Freeling…
Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (“Spiderman,” “Evil Dead”, “The Grudge”) and director Gil Kenan (“Monster House”) contemporize the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.
