Transformers sequels, spin offs in the works

Paramount are planning to do for the “Transformers” franchise what Marvel Studios did for their superhero movie universe, according to THR.

In addition to sequels to last year’s “Transformers : Age of Extinction”, the studio are developing spin-off films set in the world of the Autobots and Decepticons.

A team led by veteran screenwriter and producer Akiva Goldsman (“A Beautiful Mind”, “Batman & Robin”) have been hired to develop ideas for all future “Transformers” bigscreen outings.

Michael Bay seems to be involved in all of those future projects, though it’s unknown whether he’ll direct any “Transformers” projects outside of the original film series.
