True Detective Season 2 to do a Tokyo Drift

“Fast & Furious” director Justin Lin is in talks to helm several eps of the second season of HBO’s “True Detective”, reports Variety.

Lin wont helm every episode of the season, as Cary Fukunaga did for the show’s first season – it’s not yet known how many episodes the director will handle.

Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Vince Vaughn are finalising negotiations to join the show’s second season with the fourth lead, intended to be a female character, not yet secured. It is said that Rachel McAdams and “Mad Men’s” Elizabeth Moss are being considered.

Season 2 will be set in California. Nic Pizzolatto is writing the season which will reportedly revolve around an investigation into a corrupt city manager who gets murdered amidst a potential groundbreaking transportation deal.

Variety reports that Lin will helm his “True Detective” eps before production on the next “Borne” film – which he is attached to direct – get underway next year.
