Twin Peaks shoots next month; films as one long movie

David Lynch will shoot the next round of “Twin Peaks” episodes as one long movie, Showtime president David Nivens revealed at today’s TCA executive session in Los Angeles.

Lynch and Frost have written a script that unfolds like a complete feature, this will then be cut up into episodes – and it’ll likely be more than the 9 originally promised.

Shooting for the series begins next month. Nivens wouldn’t eloborate on casting beyond reconfirming Kyle MacLachlan’s return as Agent Dale Cooper.

From the sounds of it though, most of the original cast from the cult ’90s series will be back. Nivens telling attendees that fans “should be optimistic that the people [they] want to be there will be there, in addition to some surprises”.

Originally, “Twin Peaks” was to return in 2016 but Nivens (“I’ll take it when it’s ready. I hope that’s sooner rather than later”) suggests it might be later.
