Cue “Star Wars” Update.

Yesterday Disney announced the inclusion of two new cast members and has provided an update on the impact of Harrison Ford’s injury on production.
Newbies Crystal Clarke and Pip Andersen have been added to the cast of “Star Wars: Episode VII” however it has not yet been confirmed what roles they will play.
They will join cast members Daisy Ridley, Harrison Ford, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Carrie Fisher and Max von Sydow.

Having acted regularly on the stage, Clarke recently appeared in her first feature “The Moon and the Sun” which will bow in 2015.
British actor Anderson is also a talented parkour practitioner. He showcased his skills in a 2012 Sony advertisement.
“The Star Wars universe has always been about discovering and nurturing young talent, and in casting ‘Episode VII,’ we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition,” said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy in a statement. We are delighted that so many traveled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film.”
As for the status of Ford’s injury (a broken leg, for those that aren’t aware), the statement noted that while the star is “doing well”, production will halt for two weeks in August “while adjustments to the current production schedule are made”.
The J.J. Abrams-directed film remains dated for release on December 18, 2015.
