Both Yahoo! Movies and Moviefone have debuted two separate, but new banners for writer/director Joss Whedon’s highly anticipated “The Avengers” film, set to hit theaters on May 4, 2012.
Continuing the action from the previously successful films that include “Iron Man”, “The Incredible Hulk”, “Iron Man 2”, “Thor” and “Captain America: The First Avenger”, Marvel’s “The Avengers” is the superhero team up of a lifetime. (No kidding.) When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as SHIELD, finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.
“The Avengers” has a ton of actors and actresses reprising their superhero roles from their respective films including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård and Samuel L. Jackson.
