Universal dates mystery monster movie for 2019

Universal has slated another monster film for February 15, 2019, though we don’t have any details on the film yet.

The project is the third monster film that Universal has added to its release calendar, following Tom Cruise starer “The Mummy” on June 9, 2017, and another mystery project on April 13, 2018.

The projects are a part of Universal’s “Monsterverse”, the studio’s planned series of interconnected monster projects. Universal aims to build a franchise that will revive and reimagine Universal’s classic monsters for a modern audience, focusing on characters such as Dracula, Frankenstein, the Invisible Man, Van Helsing and the Bride of Frankenstein.

While we don’t have official details on the 2018 or 2019 films, it’s likely that one of the movies will centre on The Invisible Man – it was recently revealed that Johnny Depp is in line to take the titular role in a project based on the monster.
