Audiences won’t lay down movies to see either of these guys at the cinema – – will they tune into see Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell on HBO’s “True Detective”?
I’m guessing they will… but not because they need a Vinnie and Cole fix, but because “True Detective” is a formidable, dependable brand now (yep, if only after one season).
Anyway, seems the “Wedding Crashers” tall-man and “Saving Mr. Banks” scene-stealer are locks for season 2 of (one of) Cable’s biggest hit(s) of 2014.
This one, like the first season, chronicles a “dead dude.. but why?” case.
While Farrell will play a cop, Vaughn is playing a “career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner” according to HBO’s presser department.
HBO likely has ’em, but they’ve still not announced who is playing a second male cop and the highly-coveted role of the female law enforcer. My vote is with Elisabeth Moss. And Taylor Kitsch for the former.
