Vin Diesel to star in Sony’s Bloodshot

Vin Diesel

Turns out Vin Diesel can do more than just drive cars in a reckless manner, and he’s just closed a deal to star in the Sony Pictures film “Bloodshot”.

“Bloodshot” is based on the Valiant comic book series and has Dave Wilson at the helm for his directorial debut with a script by Eric Heisserer.

The Wrap reported that Diesel was in talks for the role back in January, and Deadline have confirmed the deal today.

The film is said to have a classic 1980s tentpole tone like “Robocop”, “Terminator” and “Total Recall”. Bloodshot is a central character in the Valiant Expanded Universe, composed of thousands of characters embodying various genres, tones and demographic groups — ordinary people in extraordinary situations rather than gods and demi-gods.

Production for the flick will begin in July.
