OK, so he was pretty wooden in the “Star Wars” prequels, I’ll give you that, but if you saw “Shattered Glass” – the biopic on shonky journo, Stephen Glass – you’ll know that Hayden Christensen is capable of acting if he’s required too.
Should be something resembling a performance in his next movie, too. He’ll play real-life poker champ, Phil Hellmuth, in “The Madison Kid”, says Production Weekly.
“He’s officially committed,” Hellmuth said this week. Bob Soderstrom, a friend of Hellmuth’s wrote the script which is scheduled to begin filming April or May in Winnipeg, Canada.
In 1989, the 24-year-old Hellmuth became the youngest World Champion of Poker by defeating the two-time defending champion, Johnny Chan, in the World Series of Poker main event. Christensen is currently working up a sweat as one of the stars of the actioner “Jumper”, co-starring Samuel L.Jackson
