Thandie Newton, currently winning raves for her stiff turn on “Westworld”, is packing for a trip to outer space.
The British actress has been cast in Lucasfilm’s “Han Solo film, joining Alden Ehrenreich (as Solo), Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson.
The movie, which started lensing last week under the direction of Phil Lord and Chris Miller, is set before the events of 1977’s “A New Hope” and chronicles the beginnings of the “Star Wars” character made famous by Harrison Ford.
Like the script, details on Newton’s character are being kept under wraps.
The actress is also known for her work in “Interview with the Vampire”, “Mission : Impossible 2”, and Aussie classic “Flirting”.
