With “Fast 9” pushed back a month, Paramount Pictures has opted to release the pandemic-plagued “A Quiet Place Part II” in it’s place.
The film, last set for Sep 17, will now open over the usually-lucrative memorial day weekend on May 28.
Petrolhead commercial “Fast 9” was previously set to open in late May but beancounters are hoping a later release, when more theaters are hopefully opened, on June 25 will be more beneficial.
John Krasinski’s sequel to “A Quiet Place” was originally plugged in for a March 2020 release but that plan was iced indefinitely once it became clear the virus would be that period’s main attraction.
