Alec Baldwin, who has been mostly hamming it up on the small screen of late (and he’ll be doing that again soon when he fronts a new sitcom alongside Kelsey Grammer), will play the big bad of a new action thriller that involves storm-chasing.
Highlander Film Group and Short Porch Pictures are behind the “epic disaster movie” titled “Supercell”, which Herbert James Winterstern directs from a script he wrote with Anna Elizabeth James.
Per Deadline, the film will take full advantage of Montana and Georgia’s lovely landscapes and shoot sometime this year.
Supercell follows William, a good-hearted teenager wanting to follow in his father’s footsteps, the legendary storm chaser Bill Brody killed by a massive super tornado. His father’s legacy has now been turned into a storm-chasing tourist business, run by the greedy and reckless Zane Rogers, played by Alec Baldwin.
William finds himself used as the main attraction to lead a group of unsuspecting adventurers deep into the eye of the most dangerous supercell ever seen. Supercell is financed by Ryan Donnell Smith and Emily Salveson’s Streamline Global.
“Supercell” will be offered up to buyers at EFM.
