Bigscreen staple Amy Smart (“Just Friends”, “Road Trip”) and and “Sleepy Hollow” actor Neil Jackson have joined the cast of DC Universe’s live-action “Stargirl” series.
The former, whose previous small screen work includes stints on “Felicity” and “Justified”, will play Barbara Whitmore, mother of the lead character (Brec Bassinger). Now that her daughter is aa teeenager, Whitmore is ” jumping back into the workforce and striving to be the best mother and provider she can be to her daughter, her new husband (Legally Blonde‘s Luke Wilson), and her new stepson (Trae Romano)”, says TV Line.
English actor Jackson and newcomer Hunter Sansone have also been cast, playing undisclosed parts.

Courtney Whitmore (aka Stargirl) is smart, athletic and above all else kind.
