Andrés Muschietti in talks to direct The Howling for Netflix

Back at Comic-Con at the “IT: Chapter Two” ‘Scare Diego’ panel, director Andy Muschietti expressed an interest to remake “The Howling”. Well, it would appear that his dream has come to fruition, with the director stating that he will helm a remake for Netflix!

While moderating a panel for “Underwater”, Muschietti confirmed to That Hashtag Show that he will be working on “Flashpoint” in 2020, but will also be directing “The Howling” for the streaming giant. The 1981 horror movie “The Howling” was directed by Joe Dante, and was loosely based on the 1977 novel of the same name, by Gary Brandner.

However it must be noted that no deal has yet been put in place, and Netflix may not actually have the rights to “The Howling” just yet, so this isn’t yet a confirmation of sorts – but stay tuned for updates!

It remains to be seen the direction that Muschietti will take the story.
