Andy Muschietti reveals new Supergirl actress for The Flash

Andy Muschietti, director of the upcoming”The Flash” movie, shared a zoom call with his actress Sasha Calle over on his socials.

In the bit, Muschietti reveals the “Young and the Restless” star will be playing DC heroine Supergirl – first played on the big screen by Helen Slater – in the upcoming film.

According to Deadline,the actress was one of 400 who tested for the role of Clark Kent’s cuz.  Those who auditioned did so alongside “Flash” star Ezra Miller, suggesting the two will share a large chunk of scenes in the film.

“I saw more than four hundred auditions [from] the US, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia. The talent pool was truly amazing and it was very hard to make a decision, but we finally found an actress who was destined to play this role,” Muschietti told the outlet.

The movie, which also stars Michael Keaton, will release November 4, 2022.

Calle was one of over 400 actresses who auditioned for the role, though most of them didn’t know what role it was for until late in the process.
