Annette Bening is set to join the superhero world, landing a role in “Captain Marvel”, the upcoming flick starring Brie Larson in the title role.
The Hollywood Reporter have the news, with Bening joining Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn and Gemma Chan, as well as Djimon Hounsou and Lee Pace, with the latter pair reprising their characters from “Guardians of the Galaxy”.
Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are directing the flick, which is currently in production in Los Angeles.
Larson plays Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot whose DNA fuses with that of an alien, sending her headlong into an intergalactic adventure.
The report suggests that Bening’s character is being kept under wraps, but another report from Variety’s Justin Kroll puts her in role of Danvers’ mother.
