Another film bypassing theaters : Sony’s Cinderella

Sony Pictures has decided to send their upcoming “Cinderella” to streaming services, forgoing a theatrical release that was set for June.

The Kay Cannon written-directed adaptation of the fairytale classic will premiere on Amazon Prime later in the year.

Camila Cabello plays Cinderella alongside Billy Porter, Idina Menzel, Pierce Brosnan, Minnie Driver, Missy Elliott and James Corden.

Sony has sold off quite a few films to streamers during the pandemic, including “Happiest Season” and “Greyhound”.
