Hot on the tail of the recent ninth season announcement, “The Flash” is about to say see-ya! to OG star Jesse L.Martin.
Martin has played father figure/detective Joe West on the CW series since day one. He will make his last appearance as a series regular this season but is believed to be returning for one-off appearances here and there down the track.
As of the current season, Martin, Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, and Danielle Panabaker are the only original cast members still full-time on the series. While Gustin recently signed a deal to return for a ninth season, Patton and Panabaker are still in talks.
Where’s Martin off to? He’ll star in a new NBC pilot called “Irrational”, playing a world-renowned professor of behavioral science who lends his expertise to an array of high-stakes cases involving governments, corporations and law enforcement. His world is turned upside down when he meets his match in a female domestic terror suspect. The pilot shoots in Vancouver, also home to “The Flash”.
