Anya Taylor-Joy & Maisie Williams to become New Mutants

The X-Men spinoff “The New Mutants” is making progress with Anya Taylor-Joy and Maisie Williams signing on as part of the Fox production. Taylor-Joy was most recently seen in thriller “Split”, while Maisie Williams is a familiar face on popular TV powerhouse “Game of Thrones'”.

The flick will be directed by Josh Boone, and is headed towards an early July start according to THR. The young beauties will star alongside a bunch of other young adults, as the “New Mutants” story follows a bunch of teenaged mutant superheroes – including Cannonball, Magik, Moonstar, Sunspot and Wolfsbane, which all sound like a bad trip. If the flick is anything like the comics, the stories will focus on group conflict, action and adventure and some weird-ass super powers.

Taylor-Joy will adopt the role of Magik, a girl who uses sorcery and teleportation. Williams will play Wolfsbane, a girl who can turn into a wolf, which conflicts with her religious beliefs.

New Mutants will be creeping into cinemas April 13, 2018.
