While a shared universe of monster-movies might no longer be on the cards, Universal still plans to make one of those ‘Dark Universe’ flicks – “The Invisible Man” with Aussie filmmaker Leigh Whannell at the helm.
It was reported last week that “Mad Men” alumna Elisabeth Moss is in talks for the role of Cecilia Kass, but strangely enough, no word on who might give life to the title character.
According to That Hashtag Show, the studio can’t announce their Invisible Man yet because they’re torn between two actors. Universal have narrowed their choices down to Armie Hammer, one of the recent favourites to take over for Ben Affleck as Batman, and Alexander Skarsgaard, best-known for his popular stint on “True Blood”.
Johnny Depp was originally attached to play the part.
Whoever is cast would play Adrian Griffin “a billionaire sociopath who made his money by developing an invisibility suit for the Department of Defense.”
In H.G Well’s original novel, Griffin actually turns himself invisible.
Production on “The Invisible Man” begins in May.
