Schwarzenegger returning to Predator franchise!?

Arnold Schwarzenegger might reprise his role from 1987’s “Predator” for the new reboequel.

The well-seasoned action icon told The Arnold Fans that he plans to meet with Shane Black, writer and director of the upcoming “The Predator”, shortly. Though Schwarzenegger doesn’t assume it’s to discuss reprising his ‘Dutch’ Schaeffer from the original, one would presuppose it’ll come up in the meet.

“I haven’t talked with him (Shane Black) yet but I’m going to meet with him for lunch sometime soon. Just as soon as I’m finished with this and “The Apprentice” and all this stuff. But I will get together with him. If there is any news, we’ll of course let you know right away,” Schwarzenegger told the fan site.

While Schwarzenegger was asked to appear in “Predator 2” (1990), he was isn’t interested (reportedly his character was rewritten to be the one Gary Busey nbw plays in the movie) in doing a fleeting appearance. And though there were rumours the big the guy was asked to cameo in Robert Rodriguez’s “Predators”, released a couple of years back, the actor’s commitment to politics at the time prevented it from happening.

Black, who also co-starred opposite Schwarzenegger in “Predator” (his character bit the dust though so no reprisal for Black here), has said that the new movie – tentatively titled “The Predator” – would be somewhat of a sequel to John McTiernan’s original. Black co-wrote the script with “Monster Squad’ helmer Fred Dekker.

“The Predator” will open March 2, 2018.
