East German actor Thomas Kretschmann whose tentpole work runs the gamut – having appeared in “Avengers : Age of Ultron”, “Captain America : The Winter Soldier “, “King Kong”, “Blade II”, “Hitman : Agent 47”, and “Cars 2 ” (where he voiced Professor Z) – is the latest name to board Disney and Lucasfilm’s fifth, untitled “Indiana Jones” movie.
Like the recently cast Mads Mikkelsen and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, there’s no deets yet on who the Los Angeles-based actor will play in the James Mangold-directed sequel.
In the past, Kretschmann has played some truly slimy villains – including in Marvel’s “Avengers : Age of Ultron”, and Captain Wilm Hosenfeld in Roman Polanski’s ”The Pianist” (2002). Might he back for more dastardly doing here?
The fifth film in the long-running “Indiana Jones” series hits theaters July, 2022.
