Axed : Z Nation

ZNATION

Producer David Michael Latt says SyFy have decided not to reanimate “Z Nation” for a sixth season.

“We wanted to tell you face to face… that we were not renewed for Season 6,” Latt said on a Periscope video on Friday. “We’re stopping at Season 5. We’re very sad, but we’re also really grateful with the opportunities that we had on the show.”

The show, created by Karl Schaefer and Craig Engler and produced by The Asylum, will live on – as Latt hints in the video – in the form of spin-off projects, like the recently commissioned prequel series. “Black Summer”, which has an eight-episode order, will air on Netflix next year.

“The Z Nation” fades to black with a final ep Friday, Dec. 28 at 9 PM ET/PT/8C.
