Out promoting her new action thriller “Jolt”, “Underworld” actress Kate Beckinsale tells Variety that she suggested to Marvel that they do a cross-over with her vampire film franchise and the popular “Blade” films starring Wesley Snipes. Marvel weren’t keen on the idea.
“I really wanted them to do an Underworld-Blade mashup. What a duo that would be. I would definitely do that, but I think they just wanted to reboot Blade as Blade so they didn’t go for it.”
Beckinsale, who played the toothy assassin Selene over a period of 13 years, says she’d be up for reprising the role again if Sony requested her presence.
“I know exactly where they are. You never know who you want to impress.”
Meanwhile, the “Blade” reboot is on its way with Mahershala Ali set to star and Bassam Tariq directing.
