Before he’s even shot Elvis, Baz gets another project going!

Maybe he should get this Elvis biopic out-of-the-way first (and they said that’s still releasing next year!? whaaaat!?), never the less Aussie wunderkind Baz Luhrmann is already greasing the wheels on another new film.

According to Screen Australia, a project called “The Creek” is getting coin from the funding body, and while there’s no filming date mentioned, sounds like it’s something that’s a slip and tug away from being ready to go.

The Creek (working title): A feature film from award-winning writer/director Baz Luhrmann (The Great Gatsby), about a man who returns to a small Australian country town, triggering memories that lead him on a journey of self-revelation. Catherine Knapman, Paul Watters and Schuyler Weiss who previously collaborated on Luhrmann’s Australia are attached as producers.

Sounds like a very different project for Luhrmann – but again, this ‘country town’ the lead heads to might also be filled with singing, flying faeries.

Wanna watch Halloween with Laurie Strode!?
